Dancing Fever

Elliott's love for music began within seconds of birth.  I'm convinced they had the Rolling Stones blaring to drown out the whirling propellors of the helicopter that provided his memorable journey the day he was born.  Even when holding him as an infant, an infant much younger than the one he is now, you could feel him twisting to the music.  That love has turned him into quite the little dancer.  If you listen to the music in the background, you'll see that he puts forth a valiant effort to keep in rythm.  His dance skills already surpass mine.  I am very thankful that he seems to love music.  Far too many youth today are not encouraged to discover their creativity, their gifts.  I'll be the first to proclaim that without reading, writing and math, you're going to struggle in life.  But even with a foundation of those basics, without some creativity to develop outside the box of standardized testing, you're also in for a struggle. I am forever grateful for my fith and sixth grade teacher Mr. DesJardins who incorporated music into his everyday teaching.  I'm afraid his methods would be crucified at a public school board meeting today.  I'm thankful that altough controversial all those years ago, his approach survived while he was my teacher.  I am not the most talented musician today, but the sound of music can turn my day around quicker than Phillips, Craig and Dean can shout I am a Friend of God ( Great Song - Great Group).  I'm thankful my parents always supported our interests, especially music.  Katie and I will certainly do the same with Elliott - as you will see in the video - we have a budding star on our hands, or at least someone who knows where to turn for a lift in his day.
