Run the Good Race

Run the good race, we hear her voice say.
Don’t let my absence stand in your way.
There are too many miles left to put in,
Waste no more time wondering when to begin.

Make this the day, it could be your last one.
Trust me I know, I’ve run my last run.
But don’t let that stop you, the world needs your smiles,
Your hearts and compassion, they need your Meg’s Miles.

The finish line’s coming, so pick up the pace.
Please understand this is our biggest race.
They are weary and hurting, we have to come through.
I’ve passed the baton, now it’s all up to you.

Though I’m done running I’ll still lead the way
To where peace, hope and love can rule every day.
You see, this race is different, it’s much more than miles,
This race won’t be won til the world wears Meg’s Smiles.
