Santa Clause Has Been Spotted In Ashland, Virginia

When you have a two year old who is experiencing pre-santa jitters for the very first time, you increase your odds dramatically of sighting the North Pole's most famous citizen.  As luck would have it, we didn't see him streaking through the sky behind a bright red nose, but instead sitting on the couch in our living room.  There must be a lot of poor behaving kids around the world this year, because Santa looked relaxed and in no hurry to spread the Christmas joy.  He appeared to be keen on the milk and cookies however.  Our yearly batch wasn't ready yet, but we let him know he was welcome to return later tonight and grab some fresh out of the oven.  If he happened to leave some gifts behind for the boys, that would be fine too.  But for all of you out there waiting for your own visit, I am posting a photo to tide you over until you capture your own snapshot.

Of course it wasn't long before Santa was ready for a nap.  It made for an odd scene when he mistook the manger Elliott and I built last weekend for his own place of rest.  We will be sure to rustle him in time to make his many promised deliveries.
