Katie sent this photo to my computer at work today. When I first opened it, I thought I was looking at a picture of Elliott and Ian. I soon realized that Katie and Elliott had stolen some time before leaving for work and school today to enjoy the nearly one inch of snow we had overnight. It was a reasonable mistake though. Ian has been standing much better lately, but with assistance, and it is obvious this creature is standing all alone. And in retrospect, I can't help but notice Ian and this mini-Frosty have similar circular formations. I remebered though, I had dropped Ian off at the Nuthouse Daycare already, where he was participating in a day long 3 month birthday party.
Katie said Elliott wasn't particularly fond of building Frosty, but he did enjoy dressing him. Once he was satisfied his new friend was costumed in the closest things he and mama could find to eyes of coal and a button nose, he sang to him. (See the video below). The snowman and his soundtrack produced right in our front yard.
When I arrived home from work tonight, Frosty stood as the only remaining sign of the previous nights snow. When I saw him standing, stoic and unchanged from the picture Katie sent me this morning, I couldn't help but smile as I pictured the face of the excited little boy standing next to him, who truly believes this Frosty is as alive as you and I.
